Other recreational activities include basketball,  a variety of fitness equipment, treadmills, foos-ball, pool table, ping-pong and many other games to use year-round.

Community Events & Educational Programs

Year-round community events include: Halloween trick-or-treat street, holiday meal for seniors, cajun boil, monthly music nights, flea markets and BBQ, and other seasonal dinners.

Grassroots provides community wide access to computers, internet and printers, and a small library.

An after school drop-in program is offered to students who wish to do homeworks, use computer equipment or just play

Private and public use of the facility is offered to the community for a small fee that covers building maintenance. Memorial services are always offered at no charge.

Arts, Culture & Heritage

Grassroots, through its focused cultural programming, offers its community many diverse ways to celebrate rural arts and culture. Most programs focus on the High Plains landscape, artists, and cultural heritage—all important in building a strong sense of community belonging. Citizens from Joes, Kirk, Cope and surrounding High Plains communities are invited to present and learn about the creativity found in their own back yard. Each art project provides inspiration for new and creative ways to preserve and support contemporary rural life.
